Yet another crazy week in Cabildo. There were some
fights as usual but they werent that heated. We are all convinved that
Cabildo is cursed. I went to la ligua for an intercambio andwe were
contacting and severl people told us that Cabildo was bad. Even a 12 year
old smoking a cigarette told us that CAbido was bad. Theres a lot of
drugs and suicides and they found 2 bombs last week but te worst part is the
lack of love in the church. At least 5 families this week told me that
they wanted to go inactive because of all the drama. Im getting a
little exhausted of all the fights but i got keep on keeping on. Dont get
me wrong I love Cabildo and I think its been my favorite sector so far but man
its a head ache sometimes.
This week was normal and not anything too exciing
happened. We are still working with Amanda. Her mom is from Chile
and is a member, she moved to Arizona and lived over there for about 8
years. She used to live in Mesa. She lived by the Mesa teple and
then moved when she had Amanda to Univesity and Gilbert. Amanda is 10
years old and when she had 4 years old they moved to Mexico because thats where
the father is from and then they came back to Chile when the parents split
up. We always talk about restaurants and places and she used to always
goto Tempe town lakes so we talk about that a lot. She had a lot of bad
experiences here in Cabildo with the church but she is starting to come back to
church and with her recent cancer she has been a lot more receptive. I
gave her one of those in n out hats the other day and she loved it.
Friday morning we dug a ditch for 2 hours and
that was pretty fun and we also started teaching another little girl who is the
daughter of a less active member. Her nme is Josefa and she is a very
loud and outspoke little girl. She got a little sad when we told her that
Jesus wasnt known for being a vegetarian and then she showed us he pet
hamster. WE also saw a smal explosion cme from one of the drug dealers
huse that live next to the family Echazu. That was pretty cool.
As far as Mr Stillwater/Sweetwater (i cant
understand him well) we havent seen him this week. I dont what
happened but it hasnt been outside readin like usually and i dont know if we
can bring him the sacrament cause his name isnt on our records so well see what
we can do.
Sunday I gave a blessing to Lili, Amandas mom,
and to the son of Milagros. Felipe got realeased as our mision leader. In
church Sandra , my latest convert, asked me to give the blessing and the
name to her two little daughters. That was fun. I definitaley get to use
the priesthood a lot here.
We have one week left until cambios and Elder
Stayner and i get a long great and we are having fun. Were being obedient
and working hard every day. I love you and hope you have a great week!
love
Elder Gardner
